Ski Bonk is a mashup of
SnoCountry,
OnTheSnow,
Weather Underground,
the
National Weather Service, and several other data feeds to provide a graphical
view of worldwide skiing conditions on a google map. Use the dropdown box on the right hand of the screen to select a data set, then click a column header
in the detail box to visually display that information on the map. Use the 'Snowcast' feature to plot expected snow at each ski resort.
SkiBonk lets you graphically view the lastest alpine ski information on a google map.
Click a map icon for more detail.
Click and drag map to pan. Map will automatically fill in with ski data as you move about the map.
Searching:
Location: enter a "city", "state", "country", "continent", or "resort name".
Note: state/provinces only work for the US and Canada.
Only Operating Resorts: will only display resorts with operating lifts and runs. Note: closed resorts appear as red on the map, and green indicates lifts are operational
Sort: Click on a column header to sort by that information. For example, clicking on 'runs' will sort the resorts in the order of the number of runs.
Visualization: When you select a column for sorting, the map will graphically display that data, with bolder icons representing higher values. For example, this allows you to easily view regions with new snowfall, or determine which areas have a high percentage of beginner trails. If you click on the Name column, the icons get restored to resort status(red-closed, green-operating lifts and runs)
